Inspired by an indigenous teaching that states, "There won't be peace on earth until the voices of the grandmothers are heard," this documentary film about grandmothers' wisdom and the book set out to find out why. In interviews with grandmothers and elders from Siberia to Patagonia, "The Wisdom of the Grandmothers" provides a powerful testimony to the importance of the voices of elder women in today's world. Love, community, creativity, family, faith and spirituality, respect and caring for our Mother Earth are just of a few of the important topics shared. The Wisdom of the Grandmothers," has broadcast more than 440 times on 85 PBS and FNX stations in 19 states and 42 markets, to an audience of almost 89 million in more than 34.5 million households since it first aired in 2015! In 2021 we decided to make it available for free on YouTube because we believe the message is still so important for today.

The late Tlingit elder James Wilbur Walton, was an inspiration for a myriad of people through his lifetime of work on behalf of indigenous people. Jim always talked about the indigenous teaching that says "There won't be peace on earth until the voices of the grandmothers are heard." Though he has passed to the next world, his teachings and life work provided the inspiration for us to learn more. We forever honor and remember him.
The book details the stories of many of the grandmothers we met along the journey. The author and the women who traveled with her on a North to South journey from Siberia to Patagonia set out to ask grandmothers to share what they learned from their life experiences that was important for younger women. They wanted to learn why the voices of grandmothers are important for peace. The women Interviewed range in age from 44 to 102. They are black, white, brown, yellow and every mix in between. They are Russian, Iranian, English, Chinese, Chumash, and more. Each shared what she had learned along her own life journey. The book provides inspiration, hope, healing and wisdom that will help those who read it on their own journey through life.It also illustrates why elder women need to be a greater part of the dialogue to solve our world's problems today. The documentary film Indigenous Prophecy Today is a universal call for humanity to change its relationship with the earth and with indigenous cultures. The film documents important stories that have traditionally guided indigenous and aboriginal cultures. Compelling interviews with elders from the Tlingit, Amara, Hopi, Shinto, Mayan and other culture bearers from Alaska, Australia, Japan, Central and South America and tribes across the United States, document creation stories, prophecies, indigenous wisdom and warnings given to humanity and call people to find ways to live with greater respect for the earth and for each other. The elders interviewed shared what they believe is important to preserve from their cultures and how their cultural teachings offer solutions to many problems in today’s world. The aboriginal and indigenous peoples of the earth have an important role in establishing peace. Understanding the spirituality inherent in their cultures and embracing their connection to Mother Earth is crucial for us all.
